My name is Sean Mckechnie and I am the owner of Progress Fitness.

After spending most of my adult life being over weight, unhealthy, unfit and unhappy, in 2016 I decided enough was enough and decided that big changes were needed.

I had also stopped smoking in 2014 after reaching a very unhealthy 40 cigarettes a day habit.

Over the course of the 2 years that followed that, I lost 4.5 stone in weight, was exercising regularly, changed my eating and lifestyle habits, my life had completely changed for the better.

This then brought me on to the next amazing chapter in my life, becoming a personal trainer.

Towards the latter end of 2018 and into 2019 I qualified as a personal trainer as I felt I could help others get through what I had gone through as I know many many people struggle with the same issues I had. Because I have been through my own weight loss journey and experienced the highs and sometimes lows that come with that, I can be empathetic towards them and help them through using a combination of the training I have had and also the first hand experience of weight loss.

Since becoming a qualified personal trainer I have successfully helped many others lose weight, gain fitness, build muscle and strength, learn how to lift weights safely and effectively, gain confidence to go into a commercial gym and use the free weights section and feel better about themselves through exercise and good nutrition.
